Service Agreement
- Legally Binding Agreement: By signing a contract with Act of Service, LLC, you enter into a legally binding agreement for work to be completed at an agreed-upon price. This includes agreements made via email. If this contract is canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled services, a fee of $75.00 for residential or $150.00 for commercial services will be charged.
- Product Warranties: All warranties are limited to those provided by the manufacturers of the products used. Act of Service, LLC makes no additional warranties. If you have any concerns about our work, please notify an Act of Service, LLC management member immediately.
- Water Usage: By signing this agreement, you agree to provide Act of Service, LLC the right to use an on-site water supply as needed to complete the project without compensation. If an exterior water supply is required, it will incur an additional charge. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the water supply is on and in working order before we arrive. Additional charges will apply if water is not available.
- Electrical Usage: By signing this agreement, you agree to provide Act of Service, LLC the right to use an on-site electricity source as needed to complete the project without compensation. If an exterior source is required, it will incur an additional charge.
- Color and Tone Concerns: The properties and species of wood age and weather can significantly affect the resulting color or tone of the stain. Variances may occur on individual boards as well as the total project, as densities and other characteristics vary across the wood. Act of Service, LLC and its associates strive to represent final finish color and tones as accurately as possible, but some variance in the overall finish should be expected.
- Courtesy: While Act of Service, LLC is on location and performing work on your property, you are responsible for keeping all children, pets, and other individuals away from the work area. Children and pets must be kept off the work surface for at least 12 hours after our work is completed for their safety and ours.
- Payments: Payments to Act of Service, LLC are due as per the contract schedule and can be made by check, Zelle, cash, or credit card. Any deviations from this policy must be agreed upon in writing on our contract. Late charges will be immediately assessed on all balances not paid in accordance with contract terms. The customer agrees to pay any collection costs incurred by Act of Service, LLC related to the collection process of outstanding balances.
- Scheduling: Scheduling in a business reliant on weather conditions can be challenging. Inclement weather may affect scheduling. We strive to minimize scheduling conflicts, but circumstances beyond our control may affect your project start and completion dates. You will be notified of any changes.
- Removal & Replacement of Contents: Removal and replacement of grills, deck furniture, planters, and any other items are the homeowner's responsibility. Should we need to remove items from the areas to be pressure washed, we will not be responsible for any damage, breakage, or storage issues. An additional charge may be applied for time and labor devoted to the removal of these items.
- Damages: Act of Service, LLC is not responsible for damages due to improperly installed siding, loose shingles or siding, broken or open windows, improperly sealed windows and doors, wood rot, defective construction, improperly secured wires, loose or improperly installed gutters and leaders, and improper caulking. In every aluminum siding case, and in some vinyl siding cases, the sun and weather will bleach the color or cause fading. Power washing, which entails the removal of chalky, gritty, or failing surface materials, may cause the faded aspects of the vinyl or aluminum to stand out. Act of Service, LLC will not be responsible for such conditions. Act of Service, LLC will not be responsible for loose mortar that may dislodge during the cleaning process. Act of Service, LLC suggests the Client utilize their property’s breaker box to shut off power to any and all exterior outlets, light fixtures, or other electrically powered features. This is especially important for outlets that are not covered with exterior covers. Act of Service, LLC will not be responsible for plants that become shocked or damaged by chemicals needed to clean the property's surfaces properly. The client is responsible for covering any plants that are sensitive to chemicals and/or overwatering. It is always recommended that plants and grass be watered both before and after pressure washing services are performed.
- Stains: Some stains cannot be removed by power washing. Tree sap, artillery fungus, splatters from stains and paints are examples of materials that cannot be removed by conventional means. We make every attempt to point these areas out to the customer when quoting the project. Sometimes these stains cannot be removed at all.
- Efflorescence: Efflorescence is not removed with normal pressure washing and cleaning methods. Efflorescence cleaning is an additional service that we offer and will be listed on the estimate or invoice if requested. Efflorescence removal may cause divots in your mortar and/or brick. Act of Service, LLC will not be responsible for damage to the brick or mortar during the efflorescence cleaning procedure. We will do our best to minimize any damage to the brick or mortar.
- Property Condition: Act of Service, LLC expects your property to be in good repair and weather-tight. This includes, but is not limited to, all electrical services, including receptacles and light fixtures. Doors and windows shall also be weather-tight. Act of Service, LLC is not responsible for damages resulting from water infiltration due to poor or improper installation, maintenance, or repair of electrical-related items or doors and windows not sealed properly. Act of Service, LLC cannot guarantee the removal of artillery fungus from exterior house surfaces.
- Protection of Stained Features: Stained wood doors and other features should be covered by the homeowner before the pressure washing service. Chemicals used in cleaning can damage stained doors and other stained features.
- Window Cleaning: Windows may become water-spotted as a result of our services. Window cleaning is NOT included unless requested. If window cleaning is requested, hard water stains are not always removable. Act of Service, LLC does not guarantee the removal of hard water stains.
- Rust and Oil Stains: Rust and oil stains are not guaranteed to be completely removed during cleaning services. Please see our website for more information.
- Estimate and Invoice Review: Please review the estimate and/or invoice form in its entirety. Any errors on the estimate must be corrected by the listed customer before service begins.
